Prom!

IMG_3355.JPG

I was kinda worried about prom this year. Not so much the actual going to it, but finding what to wear. I hate tuxedos. I think they're the ugliest things on the planet and they should all be taken, soaked in gasoline, and blown up. Basically. My original plan for prom was to go Ellen Degeneres style: a suit with a t-shirt and converse sneakers. That plan was all fine and good until about two weeks ago when I went to the tailor to check out the suits and he was like, "get out of here. You're too small."

I tried to find custom tailor websites, but all of the suits I found on them looked crazy frumpy and I started to become terrified that I wouldn't be able to find anything to wear to prom. I decided that the only place that I could find something that would actually fit me, much like I had before, was H&M. That place is amazing. Unfortunately, there isn't one in Buffalo, so Russell, Katie, Brandon and I went up last Tuesday to Toronto to do a little bit of prom shopping. We found only ONE blazer in my size and it was super on sale because the pants it was supposed to be sold with were missing.

Once I got my little blazer thingy, I went back to my original plan of Ellen-Degeneres-style prom attire. That is until about three hours before prom when I realized that wearing a t-shirt and a blazer is not nearly as cool-looking as it sounds. I put on a wrinkled button-down shirt underneath. I excavated a slim knit tie from my tie pile and found this old bowler hat that's been lying around in our house for months. I felt that the whole ensemble really required a cane to look adequately pimpin', so Russell drove me to Tom's house to borrow the cane that he used for last year's prom. Once I saw the entire outfit together, I get SO pumped about it. I got even more excited with my super-duper-fun last-minute prom date, Mary. Everybody at prom basically thought I was on crack.

Just for the record, gasoline isn't explosive, it's flammable.
